Ben the Bear had a beautiful tail that he was so proud of he showed it to everyone.Sam the Shark, as everybody knows, is very funny and is always playing games. Sometimes he likes to play tricks on people to make them look silly too.

One day in the middle of winter Sam was fishing on a lake that was frozen. When Ben asked what he was doing Sam said “Catching some very nice fish, do you want to try it?”. When Ben said he would, Sam told him that he would have to turn around and use his tail as he didn´t

have another fishing rod. “How will I know if a fish bites if I have to turn around?” said Ben, “I will hide behind that tree where the fish can´t see me and tell you if one has bitten but it is very important you do not move” replied Sam. Sam walked behind the tree and then ran all the way home and went to bed.

When he woke up he went to see if Ben had moved. When he arrived he saw that Ben had fallenasleep and that the water had frozen around his tail. So Sam walked very quietly over to Ben and shouted “A FISH HAS BITTEN!” very loudly into Ben´s ear. Ben jumped up and heard a large WHACK sound as his tail broke off and fell into the lake, and that is how Ben the Bear lost his tail.

Sean the Shark was walking along the forest on the way to visit his friend Olivia the Owl. He saw Olivia find a piece of cheese on the ground and fly up into a tree with it in her beak. Sean is not a normal Shark because he does not like Shark food, his favourite food is cheese ! Sean was very hungry as he had walked a long way to visit Olivia but he knew Olivia would not give him the cheese and he knew Olivia would offer a dead mouse instead which Sean hated. 

Sean thought of a clever plan to get the cheese: He walked over to Olivia and said “Hello Olivia, you look very beautiful today ! Your feathers are perfect and your eyes are so nice and big. I remember the last time we were together that you had the most beautiful voice…. Would you sing for me again please ?” Olivia the Owl was very happy that Sean had said so many nice things about her that she forgot about the cheese and began to sing for him. The cheese fell out her beak and landed into Seans hand and was quickly eaten up. “Thankyou for the song and the cheese Olivia, next time remember to be careful around people who are too nice!” said Sean.

The Story of how Ben the Bear became a nice bear

Ben the bear is a very friendly bear. Bears in the woods are not very nice. This is the story of how Ben the bear became a nice bear.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Morgan. She lived far away in the forest. Morgan used to play in the woods every day. One day, Morgan was playing in the forest when Ben the Bear appeared. Ben was scary like all the other bears! He was very very big and he was very angry. He would growl and roar.

Morgan was just a little girl but when Ben came very close to he, and she thought he was going to eat her, she gave him a big hug! Or as big a hug as a little girl can give, which are surprisingly big.

From that day on every time Morgan was playing in the woods Ben the Bear would appear and Morgan would give him a hug every day. One day Morgan thought she saw the Bear getting smaller.  And the next day, and the next.  A little bit smaller every day… Every day he grew a little smaller, roar a little bit less and growl a little more softly. And smiled a little bit more.

And as the Bear grew smaller and smaller, Morgan grew just a little bigger each day. And smiled even more than she ever had before. Until the day she could hold the Bear in her arms.

And that is the story of how Ben the Bear became a nice bear !
